Academic Module Guide Writer and Moderator - Gender Studies. We are seeking independent contractors with expertise in gender studies and related interdisciplinary areas, including cultural perspectives on sexualities, research discourses and methodologies, and gendered perspectives on health education. Candidates should also demonstrate knowledge of intersectionality in social justice, media literacy, and gender identities, as well as the capacity to supervise and support postgraduate research through a dissertation in gender studies.
The role requires strong theoretical grounding, research capability, and sensitivity to contemporary debates in gender, sexuality, and social justice.
PURPOSE:
- The Module Guide Writer:
To create comprehensive and engaging module content that ensures alignment with programme objectives and enhances student learning outcomes. - The Module Guide Moderator:
To ensure the quality, accuracy, and alignment of module content with programme outcomes, assessment criteria, and academic standards.
- The Module Guide Writer:
To develop the module guide content aligned to the module outcomes and associated assessment criteria as per the requirements provided using the online Curriculum Development and Management System. - The Module Guide Moderator:
To moderate the module guide content aligned to the module outcomes and associated assessment criteria as per the requirements provided using the online Curriculum Development and Management System.
- A relevant PhD NQF Level 10 qualification (with extensive academic experience) or
- A relevant Masters NQF Level 09 qualification (with extensive academic experience)
- 2-5 years Academic experience
- Module Guide Development or Moderation experience
SKILLS:
- Knowledge of the South African Higher Education Regulatory Framework
- Ability to work within pre-determined time frames and meet deadlines
- Excellent academic writing and communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism in academic writing
- Proficient in the use of technological systems
- Possess a high level of ethics
- Knowledge of Blooms Taxonomy verbs and SAQA Level descriptors
