Smart Start Club Coach – Umzimkhulu

Location: Umzimkhulu
Reports to: Smart Start Programme Lead
Role OverviewTREE is seeking a Smart Start Club Coach to support the licensing, quality assurance, and ongoing development of Smart Start early learning franchisees (Smart Starters) in Umzimkhulu. The successful candidate must reside in Umzimkhulu
, have strong local knowledge, and be willing to travel extensively within the community.
- Relevant Degree/Diploma in Social Sciences/Social Work/ Project Management/ Community Development, or similar
- 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Valid driver’s license
- Must have own vehicle
- Support the licensing, coaching, and quality improvement of Smart Starters
- Build, inspire, and sustain effective Smart Start Clubs
- Promote understanding of and demand for quality early learning
- Strengthen the Smart Start network through collaboration and stakeholder engagement
- Recruit and support Smart Starters through sourcing, selection, onboarding, and training
- Conduct visits, assessments, licensing, and re-accreditation in line with Smart Start PQA processes
- Order, distribute, and monitor use of Smart Start resources
- Establish, train, and support Smart Start Clubs and Club Leaders
- Facilitate Club and Club Leader meetings and provide ongoing coaching and support
- Monitor performance data (retention, attendance, participation) and address risks
- Build relationships with local stakeholders and conduct community mapping
- Act as a brand ambassador for TREE and Smart Start
- Collect, upload, and report data via Smart Link; submit monthly and quarterly reports
- Ensure compliance with governance, quality assurance, and internal policies
- Strong planning, organisation, and time management
- Good operational decision-making
- Attention to detail and service-oriented approach
- Proactive, reliable, and trustworthy
Working Hours: 08:00 – 16:00 (30-minute break)
