New Bridge Graduate Institute invites applications for lecturers (full and part time) to teach on the B Ed Foundation Phase teaching as from 2027. By applying applicants agree that their CV can be submitted to regulators. All lecturers will need to have at least an NQF Level 8 qualification in Education with a focus on the foundation phase although those with experience teaching in the Foundation Phase who have an Education qualification related to the intermediate and senior primary phases may also apply.

Application Requirements
  • Campus preference (Centurion, Fourways, Tygervalley, Salt River, Musgrave, Pinetown)
  • Highest relevant qualification which must be at least NQF 8.
  • Years experience in Foundation Phase teaching.
  • Suitability to teach English, Afrikaans, isiZulu at HL or FAL level.
  • Experience in teaching Mathematics and/or Robotics at this phase.

Main Purpose of the Role

Lecturers will develop modules, learning content and assessments and lecture on modules in the Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching from 2028. They will also assess work integrated learning.

  • Standard B Ed Modules including languages (English, Afrikaans and isiZulu), mathematics and robotics for the Foundation Phase
  • Assessments
  • Instruction, assessment and supervision
  • Teaching, assessment and teaching practice supervision
  • Administration and student support
  • Support of students.
  • Gather and act on feedback from students.
  • Administration of student learning experience
Essential Skills & Competencies
  • Foundation Phase teaching experience of at least two years preferred.
  • Two years lecturing experience on a similar B Ed preferred.l
  • Experience teaching in person and online.
  • High levels of computer proficiency.
  • Alignment with the curriculum requirements.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
  • NQF 8 Education qualification with relevance to Foundation Phase teaching.
  • Proficiency in at least two of English, Afrikaans, and isiZulu.
