POSITION INFO: Business Development Consultant – Short-Term Insurance

DBN, CPT and JHB

Full-Time

We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Consultant to grow our short-term insurance book across commercial and personal lines. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business, building strong client relationships, and delivering tailored insurance solutions.

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in commercial and personal short-term insurance
• Conduct needs analysis and provide appropriate insurance solutions
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets
• Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and policy documentation
• Ensure compliance with FAIS and industry regulations
• Maintain accurate client records and follow up on renewals and leads

• Minimum 2 years’ sales experience in commercial and personal short-term insurance
• RE5 qualification (non-negotiable)
• FAIS compliant
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

• Strong business development and prospecting ability
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
• Target-driven with a proactive approach
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Professional, ethical, and client-focused
