Senior Bookkeeper

Durban North. An exciting opportunity exists for a competent and hands‑on Senior Bookkeeper with at least 5 years’ experience
, ideally gained within an accounting practice environment
. This role is suited to a professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, multi‑client setting and takes pride in accuracy, compliance, and delivering exceptional service.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for end‑to‑end accounting functions, including maintaining books to trial balance on Pastel, managing Pastel Payroll (processing, controls, and statutory submissions), preparing monthly management accounts and Annual Financial Statements, and ensuring full SARS compliance (VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, and income tax – monthly and annual submissions).

Additional responsibilities include managing debtors and creditors, supporting cash flow and reconciliations, overseeing stock control and related accounting processes, conducting internal checks and audits across key business areas, handling CIPC submissions and company compliance, and administering the company’s insurance portfolio.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within an accounting practice (multi‑client environment)
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting / Finance (or equivalent)
• Proven hands‑on experience with SARS submissions, payroll, stock control, and full accounting cycle
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines
• Experience managing multiple clients concurrently
• Self‑driven, accountable, and proactive with a “no task too big or too small” attitude
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Excellent communication skills with a professional, service‑driven approach
• A collaborative team player who represents the brand with professionalism
