Junior Bookkeeper​/Finance Assistance

JUNIOR BOOKKEEPER – OVERPORT, DURBAN

A well-established company based in Overport, Durban is looking for a Junior Bookkeeper to join their team.

This role will suit someone who enjoys working with detail, is methodical and accurate, and takes pride in keeping accounts well-organised and up to date.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing daily transactions, capturing supplier and customer invoices, and maintaining accurate accounting records.

• Performing bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations.

• Assisting with VAT calculations and submissions.

• Preparing supporting schedules and assisting with management accounts.

• Maintaining client files and ensuring compliance with company procedures.

• Providing general bookkeeping and administrative support to senior accountants.

Requirements:

• Matric with Accounting and a relevant bookkeeping or finance qualification (or studying toward).

• 1–3 years’ bookkeeping experience.
• Proficiency in Pastel.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.

• Good Excel skills and general computer literacy.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Reliable, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a small team.
