The SAICA Accountant Traineeship is a 3‑year training contract. It equips trainees with the SAICA competencies required to pass the APC qualification and register as a Chartered Accountant. Trainees will work in the BDO Audit division, gaining generalist expertise across a broad range of commercial sectors.
Responsibilities- Work in a fast‑paced audit environment to deliver exceptional client service
- Participate in audit engagements from the day you join, applying technical audit procedures and professional judgment
- Collaborate with team members and management to support client engagements and achieve project objectives
- Document work accurately and convey findings clearly to clients and team members
- Contribute to continuous improvement of audit processes and quality standards
- Honours / PGDA / CTA or equivalent level qualification from a SAICA recognised university
- Keen willingness to learn and bring energy and aspiration to the audit team
- Strong technical ability in audit and financial report preparation
- High level of attention to detail and strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to relate to clients and understand their business context
- Application of sound professional judgment in all tasks
- Commitment to self‑development and growth
- Capability to work within diverse, multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organisational skills and time‑management ability
