Overview
Find your calling at Mercy! Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed clinician or Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under supervision as described above.

- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; consideration given for comparable education/experience and successful licensure. - Licensure:
Obtain and maintain a current LPN license within the hiring state and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
- Certifications:
one or more of the following may be required based on position/unit or required within a department timeframe. - ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- IV Certification within 1 year of hire
- Other unit-specific certifications as required.
- Push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Increase in flexibility: ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
