Pay Range: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 Annually | Onsite for the first 90 days, with potential for a hybrid schedule of 60% onsite and 40% remote thereafter| Monday-Friday| 8:00 AM - 4:30PM

Job Summary

The Pre-Award Grant Specialist is a cross-agency grant development professional responsible for strengthening budget integrity, financial compliance, ensuring data accuracy and reporting, and submission readiness across the Pre-Award Team. The Pre-Award Grant Specialist interacts with program and administrative staff to provide guidance and support in the identification and development of grant applications to enhance successful grant applications and implementation.

Primary Tasks
  • Coordinates the planning and preparation of grant proposals; provides guidance and assistance in the interpretation of funding agency and internal regulations and requirements.
  • Coordinates and supports facilitation of grant kickoff meetings.
  • Serves as liaison between program staff and granting agencies to collaborate with Grant Services and Fixed Assets in the budgeting and preparation of grant proposals.
  • Coordinates MOU development when required for submissions
  • Establish application timelines, milestone tracking systems, etc., when needed to ensure application requirements and deadlines are met in accordance with granting agency requirements.
  • Supports application portal setup (including SF-424s and related forms)
  • Engages with databases to record and track grant documentation and data for statistical analysis. Prepares month submissions statistics and reporting snapshots.
  • Quarterly and annual reporting as well as quarterly refreshes to document management (templates, boilerplate info, processes, etc.) and scheduling maintenance
  • Participates in complex or high-risk submissions across agencies
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.
  • Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Finance, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience of 4 years or more)
    • Excellent writing ability
    • Effective communication skills (phone, group/meeting interactions, one-on-one)
    • Intermediate math skills for budget development
    • Dynamic presentation skills
    • Beginning user in Adobe Pro
    • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite
    • Ability to gain knowledge of indirect cost application and match requirements
    • Two years of related experience in grants
