Durango Motor Company is seeking a skilled Mechanical Reconditioning Technician to join our growing pre‑owned vehicle reconditioning team. Continued expansion of our used vehicle business has created an opportunity for a technician who values quality workmanship, detailed documentation, and a process‑driven environment.

Position OverviewThe Mechanical Reconditioning Technician is responsible for completing mechanical repairs, services, and inspections on pre‑owned vehicles to meet Durango Motor Company’s standards for safety, quality, and consistency. This role supports a structured recon workflow and partners closely with the Recon Manager to maintain efficiency and production flow.
This position offers a true flat‑rate pay plan, fixed schedule, and a defined advancement path into the main service shop for high‑performing technicians.
Pay Plan$20.00 – $25.00 per flagged hour (True Flat Rate)
Compensation based on experience, skill level, and performance.

- Perform mechanical repairs and services on assigned reconditioning vehicles across multiple brands
- Complete thorough multi‑point inspections with accurate and detailed documentation
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, and internal quality requirements
- Follow established reconditioning processes and quality control checkpoints
- Communicate clearly and professionally with the Recon Manager and team members
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures
- Minimum 1 year of mechanical or reconditioning experience (dealership, independent, or franchise environment),
required - Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Commitment to quality workmanship and proper documentation
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
- Strong communication skills
- Must provide own tools,
required - Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods (6+ hours)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and stoop as required
- Willingness to complete a pre‑employment background check
