Team UP Ameri Corps Coordinator

PAY RATE: $24.04/hour (20-40 hours per week - negotiable)

VP of Strategic Partnerships
Position Objective
The Team UP Ameri Corps Coordinator, under direct supervision of the Ameri Corps Director, supports all programmatic aspects of Team UP Ameri Corps. This includes program planning, member management, communication/outreach, grant compliance, host site support, and data/program reporting. The Ameri Corps Coordinator will be required to build upon and create positive relationships with all entities involved with the program: members, site supervisors, community partners, funders, host sites, and the communities served.
Introduction to Team UP Ameri Corps
Led by the United Way of Southwest Colorado (UWSC), Team UP Ameri Corps places Ameri Corps State & National (ASN) members directly at local non-profits, schools, and government agencies to expand or implement new programs and projects. Members serve for a 12-month term of National Service to improve outcomes in Education, Economic Opportunity, and Healthy Futures. Team UP Ameri Corps provides hands-on experience and opportunities for training and professional development to its members while supporting communities in Southwest Colorado.
Team UP Ameri Corps is currently in its fifth year of programming with plans to continue and expand in years to come. Members serve within the UWSC’s five-county region:
Archuleta, La Plata, Montezuma, Dolores, and San Juan counties.

Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties
- Program Planning
- Lead member recruitment initiatives
- Assist with updating existing and creating new Position Descriptions
- Post Position Descriptions on Team UP Website, eGrants/myAmeri
Corps, and other relevant internal and external sites - Follow, update, and improve recruitment plan
- Attend recruitment events; speak with potential candidates about service opportunities
- Manage incoming member applications by scheduling and conducting Preliminary Interviews and coordinating with Host Sites
- Onboard and enroll new members at program start (September) and throughout the program year (rolling enrollment)
- Engage and support new members prior to their Term of Service (housing support, welcome email, regular communication, etc.)
- Assist with enrolling and importing member info into Ameri Corps systems (eGrants & OnCorps)
- Assist with assisting with National Service Criminal History Checks
- Help plan and co-facilitate Team UP Ameri Corps Member Orientation with specific focus on team-building and connection activities
- As relevant, engage with potential new Host Sites and seek opportunities for program expansion
- Member Management
- Be responsive to member and site supervisor needs by providing support, promoting professional development, and addressing concerns through problem-solving
- Learn and manage the OnCorps database system
- Send timesheet reminders to Members and Site Supervisors
- Monitor timesheets for compliance and progress
- Review Monthly Status Updates from members and site supervisors
