About The Role Are you a customer service and sales professional? Bank of the San Juans seeks a Teller/New Account Representative to be the first point of contact for customers, setting the tone for the banking experience. Responsibilities include processing customer transactions accurately, opening and maintaining various personal and business accounts, and delivering exceptional customer service. The role requires strong knowledge of the bank's products and services, compliance with banking regulations, and alignment with the bank's Core Values:

Compensation The salary range for this position is $19.00 to $22.00 per hour. Offers are analyzed individually based on location, experience, and education.

Responsibilities- Teller Functions
- Accurately perform a variety of teller transactions, including cashing checks, processing withdrawals and deposits, issuing cashier’s checks, and handling change orders.
- Maintain cash drawer limits and verify customer identities as required.
- Understand and present bank products and services to customers; promote High Performance Growth.
- Assist customers with non-transactional needs and answer incoming calls.
- Balance teller drawer, cash vault, coin machine, and Teller Cash Recycler (TCR).
- Open and/or close the branch daily as scheduled.
- New Account Functions
- Provide services related to account management, including opening, closing, and maintaining various personal and business account types (Checking, Savings, Money Market, IRAs, HSAs, CDs, Safe Deposit Boxes).
- Review New Account Disclosures with customers to ensure understanding; prepare and file documents within allotted time frames.
- Perform CIF and Account Maintenance; respond to inquiries about FDIC insurance and maximize insured limits.
- Maintain understanding of bank products and services; recommend additional solutions where appropriate.
- Understand basic E-banking, Cash Management, and Merchant Services; have basic understanding of loan products and service providers.
- Complete Position Development Plans (PDP) milestones as required for advancement.
- Demonstrate a clean desk policy, confidentiality, and proper locking of workstations.
- Apply dual control where necessary and monitor for security concerns.
- Review account and customer alert messages always and respond as needed.
- Be vigilant for fraud that could affect the bank and customers.
- Adhere to Bank Core Values and all applicable banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Complete required Compliance and Security training within designated time frames and escalate questions to supervisors as needed.
- Comply with Bank Security Policy and report security risks to management.
- Keep management informed of area activities and significant problems.
- Support the bank’s mission by participating in community service and bank-sponsored activities while maintaining a professional image and confidentiality.
- Maintain regular, reliable, and timely attendance; attend required meetings; provide excellent internal and external customer service.
- Additional duties as requested or assigned.
- High School Education or GED
- Up to six months of related experience in cash handling and customer service

The role is indoors in a climate-controlled environment with moderate noise. Physical demands include light work with occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds; regular use of computers and office equipment; ability to travel as needed.
Specific lifting: up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently. Visual requirements include close visual acuity for data analysis, reading, and computer use. Accommodation is available for individuals with disabilities where reasonable.
