Assistant Track Coach, Escalante Middle School

Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for an Assistant Track Coach at Escalante Middle School. This coaching position includes instructing middle school students (grades 7 and
8) in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training of track. The 25/26 Middle School Track season runs March 2026 - May 2026.

• Knowledge of effective coaching practices/techniques of track
• Ability to build rapport with middle school students
• Ability to build individual and team character and confidence
• Ability to relate to students of varying athletic abilities
• Ability to conduct oneself in an ethical and exemplary manner at all times
• Ability to work positively with coaches, staff, and administration
• Ability to communicate effectively with student athletes and parents
• CPR/1st Aid
