Overview
Fort Lewis College, a public institution in Durango, Colorado, offers a wide range of undergraduate programs. The Library Technician II position provides support for the day‑to‑day operations of the Access Services Department, including Circulation and Stacks Management, and supervises approximately six student employees. The role typically runs Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the possibility of night or weekend shifts as needed.
Eligible for shift differential pay.

Responsibilities- Support day‑to‑day operations of the Access Services Department.
- Manage circulation and stacks operations.
- Supervise and train approximately six student employees.
- Provide shift differential pay when working night or weekend shifts.
- Perform overtime duties when preapproved by the supervisor.
- Two (2) years of full‑time library experience.
- Or a combination of related library education and experience equal to two (2) years.
- Work experience in an academic library.
- Working knowledge of the Library of Congress call number system.
- Circulation desk experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with interlibrary loan and Prospector reciprocal borrowing.
- Supervisory experience.
- Active listening skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Flexibility & adaptability to meet scheduling demands and library hours.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Accurate data entry and database skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet objectives.
- Reading, writing, and oral comprehension and communication skills.

- Physical demands:
Light – up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently. - Mental demands: comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills/behaviors.
