We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Dunstable. Position:SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location:Dunstable
Pay:£460-£500 per week
ResponsibilitiesThis SEMH Teaching Assistant in Dunstable:
- As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils who may experience:
- Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties
- Low self-esteem and confidence
- Behavioural challenges
- Trauma‑related and attachment needs
- Social communication and interaction difficulties
You will work closely with teachers, SEN and inclusion staff to:
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support
- Help pupils manage emotions and behaviour positively
- Build resilience, confidence, and self‑regulation skills
- Encourage positive relationships with peers and adults
- Support engagement in learning and classroom activities
- Create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- A caring, patient, and reliable individual
- A genuine passion for supporting young people
- A proactive and positive attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience supporting SEMH or SEND pupils (desirable but not essential)
- The ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
- A willingness to learn and develop within education and training
- Welcoming and supportive school community in Dunstable
