The UGE Laborer/Groundman is responsible for preparing and cleaning construction sites, loading and unloading building materials, operating equipment, and assisting craft workers with their duties. This position supports the Construction team and works with personnel within the department.

• Clean and prepare the construction site for work, removing debris and hazards.
• Assist tradespeople in completing their skilled tasks more effectively.
• Identify utilities and monitor digging to prevent utility hits.
• Clean up and maintain equipment.
• Restock trucks with supplies to ensure crews have the proper tools and materials.

Minimum

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred

• 1 year of experience.
• CDL Class A driver’s license.

This job operates in a field environment and requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and twisting. The role may involve working in inclement weather (extreme heat/cold, rain, ice, snow, wind). Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements: distance judgment and color identification; precise hand–eye coordination.
