About The Role At Mackle Pet Foods, we dispatch an average of 35,000 cases of pet food daily. We are committed to building a lean, efficient, and collaborative logistics operation where every team member plays a vital role in delivering quality and service.
We are recruiting a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to join our Logistics team. This role is key to ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our warehouse operations while maintaining high standards of efficiency and teamwork. The Warehouse Supervisor will report directly to the Warehouse Manager.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily warehouse operations across four sections, from Full Loads to E-Commerce orders, ensuring all areas progress evenly and finish tasks together.
- Actively participate in day-to-day tasks while supervising team performance and ensuring targets are met.
- Allocate and redirect operatives to busier areas as needed to maintain workflow balance.
- Ensure all tasks for the current day are completed before starting the next day’s work.
- Lead daily Lean 5S activities to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
- Promote a lean culture where team meetings and continuous improvement are not just encouraged but essential.
- Act as the key communication link between the warehouse team and office staff, breaking down barriers and ensuring smooth information flow.
- Work closely with the shunter to ensure efficient trailer movements between sites.
- Coordinate with the office via SharePoint for incoming orders.
- Use handheld devices integrated with Microsoft Business Central for stock control and scanning of items (including groupage and full pallets).
- Support and cover warehouse manager on an ongoing basis.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain team morale
- Hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement
- Experience in warehouse operations and familiarity with stock control systems
- Experience operating MHE (Material Handling Equipment) such as Counterbalance and Aisle Master forklifts
- Excellent communication skills to bridge warehouse and office teams
