Trainee Shot Blaster

THE EMPLOYER IS: LAGAN ENGINEERING LTD.

The role involves preparing metal components and structures through abrasive blasting to meet required surface finish and coating specifications, ensuring high quality and safety standards are maintained.

• Carry out shot blasting / grit blasting of steel and engineered components.
• Inspect work pieces for cleanliness, surface profile, and defects.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of blasting equipment.
• Mask and protect areas not to be blasted.
• Handle and recycle blasting media safely and efficiently.
• Follow engineering drawings, job cards, and technical specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Work closely with paint and coating teams to meet production schedules.
• Comply with health, safety, environmental, and COSHH regulations.

• Following procedures.
• Willingness to learn.
• Basic knowledge of coating systems and why profiles matter.
• Awareness of corrosion types.
