AboutThe Role
As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the Hospital at Night Service, you will play a key role in providing clinical leadership, making advanced clinical decisions, and delivering evidence-based care during the night shift. The role demands an individual with extensive experience in an acute healthcare environment, demonstrated by post-registration study or equivalent experience in advanced clinical decision-making.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and make advanced clinical decisions during the night shift.
- Deliver evidence-based care in a fast-paced acute care environment.
- Utilise extensive experience in acute healthcare to support the Hospital at Night team.
- You must be a registered nurse with a strong understanding of the challenges and demands of working in an acute care setting.
- Evidence of post-registration study or equivalent experience, including certified clinical examination, assessment, and diagnostic skills at Masters Level 11.
- A commitment to professional development, including the ability to undertake a structured academic and in-house training program.
- This role offers a pathway to develop into an Advanced Nurse Practitioner following completion of a comprehensive training program.
In line with national pay and banding arrangements for trainees, this post is open to individuals who can demonstrate the potential to grow into the Advanced Nurse Practitioner role. Trainees will be remunerated at a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate, based on the length of the training period. For further details, refer to the Terms and Conditions.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part-time hours will be reduced pro-rata, with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay is not affected.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
