Trainee Perioperative Assistant (annex 21) AA

We are currently looking for a hard working, enthusiastic and friendly person to join our dynamic, fast paced Day Surgery Theatre Suite, as a Trainee Peri-operative Assistant.

You will work across a range of surgical specialties including Maxillo Facial, ENT, General Surgery, Orthopaedic Trauma, Gynaecology, Urology, Ophthalmology and plastic surgery. You will support both theatre and recovery areas.

• Participate in patient care during surgical procedures.
• Assist with preparation and set‑up of theatre equipment and instruments.
• Support multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Attend a robust induction programme with Clinical Educators and an Education Coordinator.
• Work flexible hours Monday–Friday and may cover multiple sites across Fife.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cohesively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom (or be eligible for sponsorship – this role is not eligible for sponsorship).
• Understanding of NHS working arrangements; part‑time hours pro‑rata salary.

Annex 21 trainees receive a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate, dependent on the duration of the training period.
