Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Health Records Appointment Coordinator to join our busy team.
The Health Records Department provides multi-hospital / multi-section comprehensive 24-hour Health Records Service across Fife incorporating Clinical Coding, Information Management, Inpatient Services, Emergency Department, Minor Injuries Unit, Records Libraries, Scanning, Subject Access Requests, Outpatients, Waiting Times, Overseas Visitor Status and NHS Fife Switchboard.
We require a Part-Time Appointment Coordinator to provide a comprehensive administrative service appointing patients within national & local targets while following the Scottish Government Waiting Times Standard, New Ways, and the Patient Access policy.
Responsibilities- Provide a comprehensive administrative service appointing patients within national & local targets while following the Scottish Government Waiting Times Standard, New Ways, and the Patient Access policy.
- Support the outpatient health records function in a busy environment, prioritising day-to-day workload and supporting waiting times and appointment systems.
- Work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision, contributing to a flexible approach in a busy setting.
- Education to Standard Grade (or equivalent).
- Good keyboard/typing skills with the ability to work on your own initiative.
- Knowledge of the Patient pathway, 18-week RTT and New Ways.
- Good organisational & listening skills; a flexible approach to working; good level of English language competency and strong communication skills.
- Relevant Outpatient Health Records experience is essential; ability to prioritise and manage day-to-day workload in a busy environment.
- Flexible working hours and a good understanding of waiting times and appointment systems; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous Admin / Clerical experience preferably in a Health Records department; knowledge of GDPR and confidentiality.
- This permanent position is well suited to an individual looking to gain hands-on experience in a busy, supportive workplace.
