Porter/Driver AA – NHS Scotland – West Fife (Lynebank & Queen Margaret Hospitals)

Role Overview

Porter/Driver AA required to provide porter service across wards and departments at Queen Margaret and Lynebank Hospitals. 35 hours per week (Monday to Sunday, 5/7 day patterns).

Responsibilities
  • Transport patients using chairs, trolleys and beds.
  • Deliver and collect meals, waste, furniture, mail room duties and any ad‑hoc service.
  • Support teams with equipment, documents and general assistance.
  • Maintain safe and effective communication with staff and patients.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, flexible with strong teamwork skills.
  • Experience of driving and knowledge of teletracking, customer service and time management.
  • Good communication skills; ability to work safely.
  • Previous portering experience desirable; full training provided.
  • Must be willing to cover multiple shift patterns.
  • Completion of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
  • Part‑time position, salary pro‑rata; part‑time hours reduced in line with Agenda for Change 2026.
