Ashton Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Design Co-Ordinator to join our client, a well-established bespoke joinery and fit-out manufacturer based in Dundonald.

My client is a leading bespoke joinery and commercial fit-out specialist, delivering premium interior solutions across a range of commercial environments. With a modern facility, strong in-house workshop capability and a dedicated design team, they pride themselves on producing designs that are both visually impressive and practical for manufacture and installation.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Design Co-Ordinator to work closely with the project team, workshop and installation teams, ensuring drawings and technical information are accurate, compliant and buildable from concept through to completion.

• Coordinate joinery and fit-out design information across concept, tender and construction stages
• Review drawings and specifications from architects, interior designers and contractors to ensure buildability
• Ensure designs meet project requirements, industry standards and manufacturing constraints
• Manage drawing registers, revisions, approvals and document control
• Issue accurate production drawings to workshop, procurement and site teams
• Ensure drawings include all required technical detail (materials, finishes, fixings, tolerances and assembly methods)
• Support value engineering and practical design solutions to improve efficiency and reduce lead times
• Track design changes and variations and assess impacts on cost, programme and production
• Ensure design updates are clearly communicated and superseded drawings are withdrawn
• Support quality control by ensuring drawings align with approved samples and mock-ups
• Carry out accurate site surveys when required
• Work effectively as part of a collaborative design and project delivery team

• Experience with in joinery, fit-out, commercial interiors or bespoke furniture manufacturing
• Strong understanding of workshop processes and real-world manufacturing constraints
• Proficient in AutoCAD (essential)
• Experience with Solid Works, Fusion 360 or Inventor (advantageous)
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Practical problem-solving approach and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
