Meraki Talent is working closely with a leading Chartered Accountants on the newly created position of Head of Financial Operations.
This highly regarded accountancy and advisory firm operates across multiple locations in Scotland and supports a diverse SME client base across key sectors such as engineering, healthcare, hospitality, technology and professional services. The firm aims to significantly increase its turnover in the coming years through strategic growth and innovation.
RoleThe senior leadership role sits at the heart of the firm's Business Services division, a dynamic, multi-disciplinary department that provides business services, outsourced services and cloud-based services to a broad client portfolio.
You will lead a talented team of roughly 30 professionals across Scottish locations. Working closely with the COO and Executive Board, you will shape and deliver the Business Services strategy to enhance commercial performance, drive process improvement and deliver exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities- Define and execute the strategic vision for Business Services
- Lead, develop and inspire a growing team across multiple locations
- Oversee service delivery to a wide-ranging SME client base
- Promote innovation through cloud and digital adoption
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, reporting and performance analysis
- Ensure regulatory compliance and high operational standards
- Champion the client experience and drive cross-functional collaboration
- Serve as the lead advisor for Business Services, both internally and externally
- Qualified accountant (ICAS, ACCA or equivalent) with 3+ years in a senior Business Services / Business Advisory or Outsourced Finance leadership role
- Strong understanding of SME finance functions (accounts, VAT, payroll, cloud platforms)
- Commercially minded strategist with a history of improving profitability
- Natural leader with the ability to inspire and influence teams and stakeholders
- Strong communicator with a continuous improvement mindset
- Willingness to travel regularly across the firm's Scottish office network
