Main duties and responsibilities- Manage end-to-end purchase order activity including placing POs, order acknowledgements, delivery tracking and shortage management.
- Proactively manage and expedite material shortages to minimize impact to production and control costs.
- Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships, including leading regular supplier meetings around delivery, stock agreements, and overall performance.
- Maintain accountability for inventory levels and material availability for commodities.
- Liaise and collaborate closely with other internal departments.
- Coordinate collections at suppliers in conjunction with the approved logistics partners.
- Resolution of the following:
- Goods Receiving queries
- Invoice hold issues
- Quality Return issues
- Support ECO process to ensure timely and accurate material alignment.
- Using Oracle system, ensuring all standard work activities are executed in a timely manner.
- Where applicable, utilize existing supply chain tools such as Pick List, Vendor Schedule or Kanban in support of business requirements.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement tasks and projects as requested and champion change.
- Any additional duties as required.
Education Level: Degree preferred but not essential.
Technical
Skills:
Competent MS Office applications user, especially Excel; ERP knowledge (Oracle experience preferred but not essential) and manufacturing experience.
Minimum 2 years experience in Buyer role or similar fast paced role.
Other Requirements- Knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement is an advantage.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and pro-active.
