Salary Scale: £28,011 - £30,230 per annum pro rata
. Enhancements are paid for weekend working.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Head Chef to work within the kitchen at Royal Victoria Hospital. We are looking for a chef who will support the Head Chef and be part of the main team. You are required to deliver a high standard of Catering Services within the Hospital to patients, staff and visitors whilst maintaining a clean, safe working environment.

Typical duties include working within a large-scale catering environment, applying a working knowledge of HACCP, Health & Safety and COSHH procedures. You should have, or be working towards, professional qualifications and/or substantial supervisory experience relevant to large-scale catering operations.

Prior experience of cooking in a large-scale catering environment at a supervisory level is preferred, as is a good knowledge of working procedures, practices and equipment gained through a combination of experience and professional qualifications. You will be expected to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

Hours of work are: 30 hours per week
