Band 4 – Full Time Permanent Post
(Part time hours will be considered)
With effect from 01 April 2026, NHS Scotland is reducing its full time working week from 37 to 36 hours per week, there will be no change in full time pay.
ResponsibilitiesAre you passionate about delivering high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced, acute hospital environment as well as supporting their transition home following discharge into the community? Do you have an interest in supporting patients following surgery and working as part of a dynamic physiotherapy team delivering quality rehabilitation?
We are looking for an experienced Band 4 Healthcare Support Worker to join our Vascular Physiotherapy Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with patients in the immediate post-operative phase and support their recovery through assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation interventions.
In this role, you will be allocated a delegated caseload and will be expected to work with a degree of autonomy within an agreed protocol. Your responsibilities will include delivering and progressing treatment plans, reassessing patients, and facilitating safe and timely discharges. You will be guided by evidence-based protocols and supported by a team of registered physiotherapists.
You will also contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvement activities. Ongoing professional development is actively encouraged and supported within the team. The post also includes responsibility for relevant administrative and housekeeping tasks as part of your role.
Essential Requirements- Previous experience of working in a rehabilitation or acute hospital environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong team working ethos
- Experience working with wheelchairs/adaptive equipment
