UGI​/HPB Nurse Specialist

There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered nurse to work with the well-established Upper GI nurse specialist team which includes the specialties of Upper Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary cancers, based within general surgery  successful candidate will be expected to provide specialist nursing interventions which will include providing information and support to patients diagnosed with Upper GI cancers from diagnosis and throughout their whole journey, which may include onward palliative care.

This will be done in collaboration with key stakeholders within the multidisciplinary team, as well as external stakeholders across Tayside in primary care, the health and social care partnerships and voluntary organisations.

You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register. You will have evidence of continuing professional development, be educated to degree or working towards, and work in a relevant specialty. You will be involved in collaborative working, therefore strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Whilst the post is based at Ninewells you may on occasions need to travel to other sites across Tayside as well as attending national events.
