Cardiology Nurse Specialist

Responsibilities

A successful applicant will become an integral part of the specialist nursing team, supporting patient care across Tayside and North East Fife. Key duties include:

  • Providing specialist nursing interventions to patients with a range of cardiac diseases and conditions, including acute coronary syndrome, myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, post‑surgery care and outpatient clinic assessments.
  • Leading the delivery of nurse‑led cardiac care, with a focus on cardiac rehabilitation and developing skills in arrhythmia and heart failure management.
  • Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams across primary and secondary care, working autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Traveling across Tayside as required, providing services at multiple sites including Angus, the NHS Practice Registration Institute and Ninewells Hospital.
Qualifications

Applicants must be:

  • Registered on Sub‑part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub‑part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register.
  • Holding evidence of continuing professional development, ideally educated to degree or working towards.
  • Experienced in a cardiology setting with extensive post‑registration experience.
  • Having experience in a leadership role, demonstrating a drive for growth and development.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to travel across Tayside.
