Primary SEND Teaching Assistant - SEMH

Aspire People are recruiting an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a welcoming primary school in North Manchester.

The school has a strong inclusion policy and works proactively to support pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural guidance.

• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Implementing behaviour management strategies consistently
• Supporting emotional regulation and resilience building
• Assisting with differentiated learning tasks
• Recording progress and contributing to individual support plans
• Supporting positive transitions throughout the school day

• Has recent experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs
• Remains calm under pressure and can de‑escalate situations effectively
• Builds strong, professional relationships with pupils
• Has a proactive and adaptable approach
• Is committed to safeguarding and inclusion
