Overview

• Applications are invited for a LAT post for NHS Tayside available from end February 2026 until 4 August 2026.
• The post will be based in Ninewells Hospital. The post holder will be required to work under the supervision of consultant staff in the management of emergency and elective General Surgical patients. The post holders will contribute to a 24/7 junior registrar rota.
• The appointees will be expected to perform at a level equivalent to that of at least CT1.
• There will be contribution to emergency duties in General Surgery at Ninewells Hospital Dundee, coupled with compensatory days off. The other weeks will involve elective surgical work in the Department of General Surgery in Ninewells Hospital, Perth Royal Infirmary, and Stracathro Hospital.
• The posts are recognised for training by the Postgraduate Dean. The posts are of high educational value and can count towards training time within the CT Grade.

• Post is a LAT post; the appointee is expected to perform at a level equivalent to CT1.
• Experience in emergency and elective General Surgery, with the ability to work within a 24/7 rota, is implied by the duties described.
