Overview
CHAP Tayside are looking for a Assistant Site Manager to assist the Site Manager with day to day operations along with supervising all personnel on site.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities- Ensuring health and safety standards and regulations are complied with.
- Assist with fundamental decisions regarding operations on site.
- Assist supervising all site employees and allocating work on a daily basis.
- Supervision of all non-employees on site e.g. contractors, agency personnel, work experience placements.(ensuring they are working efficiently & profitably)
- To check quality of work produced, Record QA on Procore, Notify sub contractors of poor workmanship and oversee remedials.
- To produce short term look ahead programmes to ensure sub contractors are complying with master programmes, forecasting plant, labour & Materials ( with SM assistance)
- To read drawings and specifications to ensure works are being built to appropriate standards at all times.
- Ensuring that all material required is available on site timeously and stored and protected properly.
- Provide/assist in material take off in order to quantify materials.
- Assist in producing a ‘snag’ list prior to completion of project and pursue all sub contractors to conclude.
- Be financially aware of site prelim allowances and costs generally to ensure we are working to allowances, also review sub contractors pre start minutes to be aware of what is included and what is not.
- To ensure all administration responsibilities are undertaken timeously - Diaries, QA, H&S, Take-offs, Timesheets etc
- CSCS Card
- Driving licence (preferably clean)
- Sufficient knowledge and experience to assist in the managing of the construction of multi-disciplinary highly serviced buildings.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, persuade, guide and motivate others.
- Excellent time management, prioritisation skills and reliability.
- Computer Literacy – including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
- CITB SMSTS site supervisor certificate, or be able to achieve this within a reasonable timeframe.
- Bachelor Degree related to construction, civil engineering or the built environment
- Management qualification NVQ/SVQ level 4 is desirable (holds or is currently undertaking or is willing to achieve in a timely manner).
- Construction trade craft apprenticeship.
- Construction related degree/HND or equivalent.
- First Aid.
- Construction experience – trade or site engineering background.
- Previous supervising experience including directing site works.
- Ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice.
- Ability to demonstrate experience of effectively dealing with operational issues, opportunities and obstacles.
- Drive and determination with a will to succeed.
