Maryland Metals is seeking a friendly, professional, and highly organized Traffic Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for our customers. This role is the face of our front office — welcoming customers as they enter our facility, assisting with inquiries, and ensuring a smooth and positive customer experience.
In addition to providing exceptional customer service, this position plays a key role in coordinating daily shipping and logistics operations to support timely and accurate deliveries.
Experience is desired but not required — we are willing to train the right candidate who brings strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Greet and assist customers as they arrive at the facility, serving as the first point of contact
- Answer incoming calls and respond to customer inquiries
- Manage and coordinate daily logistics and shipping operations
- Schedule customer pick-ups and maintain shipping logs
- Monitor delivery schedules and track shipments
- Communicate with truck drivers and customers regarding shipments
- Provide customer service support and resolve shipping issues
- Maintain accurate records using ERP systems, databases, and MS Office tools
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Experience in traffic, transportation, logistics, and distribution operations desired but not required
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in database software, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and ERP Systems
- This individual reports to the Vice President and works closely with a variety of departments throughout the company.
This position has minimal travel and is based in Sparrows Point, MD.
