Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates at a single H&R Block tax office.
  • Lead the front-line management, development, and performance of tax office associates to deliver an outstanding client experience.
  • Assist in creating and implementing office-level growth plans, develop local partnerships, and manage office community involvement.
  • Recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office associate positions (in coordination with the District General Manager).
  • Serve as the point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns and ensure client scheduling is accurate and conflicts resolved.
  • Direct daily activities to ensure timely completion of work with attention to quality, priorities, and goals.
  • Coach and train associates to meet Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions.
  • Lead daily team meetings, create staff schedules, and manage timekeeping and overtime; prepare tax returns as required.
  • Conduct timely performance reviews and address associate concerns in partnership with appropriate resources.
Qualifications and Expertise
  • Prior experience in a customer service, shift leadership, or similar role; experience supervising or managing people.
  • 2+ years as a Tax Professional preferred; successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course if preparing tax returns.
  • Annual continuing education to meet IRS and applicable state requirements; computer proficiency with MS Office; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; flexibility in work schedule based on business needs.
