Installs, maintains, and repairs shop equipment. This position performs maintenance, parts replacement, and repair of industrial machinery, as well as electrical and electronic equipment. At least 5 years of experience is required. The role requires the ability to work with minimal supervisory direction and follow up.

• Work independently
• Responsible for all facility maintenance
• Work with third‑party subcontractor when applicable
• Regular inspection of all electrical and powered equipment
• Troubleshoot and detect problems in all assigned equipment
• Repair assigned equipment as tasked by the Superintendent
• Repair and replace defective components of equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
• Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment
• Maintain a clean shop environment in work areas
• Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps and safety valves on heavy equipment
• Perform incidental testing on equipment
• Must be able to read, write, speak, understand and communicate effectively in English
• Maintain regular attendance and timeliness
• Conduct business and interactions with a positive attitude that projects a high level of professionalism

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or Equivalent.

• Ability to frequently lift up to 40 lbs
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions

• Operation Monitoring – Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
• Equipment Maintenance – Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
• Repairing – Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools
• Troubleshooting – Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
• Operation and Control – Controlling operations of equipment or systems
• Precision Control – The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions
• Problem Sensitivity – The ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong; it does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
• Decision Making – Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
• Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
• Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
• Coordination – Taking and adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions
• Oral Comprehension – The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
