Objective of job
  • Establish ownership of the processes through effective communication/implementation of Draexlmaier's goals and objectives with a focus on personnel planning, production planning, quality, safety, 5S budget control and continuous improvement. Emphasis placed on performance by attaining all measurable and deliverables with respect to training and development, efficiency (PP), scrap reduction, PPM, First Time Yield, OEE, Utilization, and Safety.
  • Plan and allocate headcount based on daily production requirements.
  • Ensure associates are fully trained and understand quality and process expectations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, document disciplinary actions, and support associate development.
  • Monitor training plans, track performance, and provide coaching and motivation.
  • Act as department leader in the manager’s absence.
Production Operations
  • Achieve daily production targets and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Support associates with work orders, material flow, and workstation readiness.
  • Approve new work instructions and support new program launches.
  • Coordinate material requisitions and resolve production bottlenecks.
Quality Assurance
  • Troubleshoot quality issues and lead corrective action teams.
  • Monitor scrap, rework, and cost trends; drive reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure error‑proofing and red‑rabbit devices function properly.
  • Apply structured problem‑solving tools (e.g., Q‑wheel) for non‑conformances.
Safety, Environmental & Housekeeping
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
  • Enforce 5S standards and compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Ensure all incidents and non‑conformances are documented and reported.
  • Confirm materials are handled, labeled, and disposed of per EMS requirements.
Process Control & Documentation
  • Verify accuracy of work instructions and proper process adherence.
  • Ensure process checks and equipment parameters meet established standards.
  • Maintain required production documentation and shift reporting.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Monitor and report daily/weekly/monthly KPIs (PP, OEE, Scrap, PPM, FTY, Utilization, Safety, 5S).
  • Adjust operations to meet delivery and efficiency goals.
  • Support hiring decisions and labor planning.
Maintenance Coordination
  • Ensure preventive maintenance tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Provide input for new equipment or replacement investment needs.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to support production goals.
  • Ensure departmental budgets align with plant objectives and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Champion lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead or support CI projects that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
Job Requirements
  • Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing (automotive preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and KPI tracking.
  • Ability to work independently on night shift while leading a team.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
