Use carton printing machines and label printers to print cartons/labels of various sizes and styles imprinted with a wide variety of part numbers, bar codes, and other information required by the customer.
Responsibilities- Gather necessary supplies, which may include the use of powered industrial equipment. Verify quality prior to use, including fitness of cartons/boxes to support product weight.
- Inspect cartons/labels for accurate information or visible defects prior to delivery to packaging areas. If errors are found, take appropriate action to restore accuracy.
- Set up, change over, and perform troubleshooting on all printing equipment.
- Download printing information from computer verify accuracy of all data. Edit as required.
- Perform a test print and ensure information, barcodes, formatting, and placement of all text is correct and legible.
- Communicate with other work areas in order to resolve problems that may arise.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties such as filling out standard forms and keeping work area clean and orderly.
- 18 years of age
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Ability to read and interpret documents written in English. Documents include information such as safety rules, work instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to complete production forms. Ability to communicate effectively in English with co-workers and plant leadership.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch and use hands/arms. The employee is regularly required to talk and to hear at conversational level. The employee must regularly lift/move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 55 pounds. Moving/lifting greater than 55 pounds requires assistance from another employee or a lifting device/hoist.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Protective-toe shoes required at all times while on the plant floor.
