Overview
Transdev Canada is hiring a Conventional Bus Driver for our Duncan location.
Your role- Drives one of several different transit or company non-revenue vehicles in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the contracted service area within a daily assigned time schedule.
- Operates on-board computer destination signs.
- Maintains a strong attendance record.
- Performs pre/post-trip vehicle inspections as required.
- Possesses a functional knowledge of the demographics of the service area.
- Stops at designated points to load and/or unload passengers.
- Assists in the boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and is required to properly secure wheelchairs and scooters.
- Notifies dispatch of deviations, overloads, accidents, passenger incidents, medical/behavioral problems, or bus mechanical/electrical trouble.
- Ensures that fares are deposited into the fare box and dispenses information. Advises passengers of rules and regulations when necessary.
- Completes and submits written reports concerning passengers and all accidents.
- Assumes any and all other duties assigned.

- You have a valid Class 2 Learner's permit and air brake endorsements, or equivalent.
- You have a clear driver abstract and adherence to safety regulations.
- You have the ability to assist passengers with disabilities and mobility devices.
- You have the physical ability to perform pre- and post-trip inspections and assist passengers.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- You possess the ability to read, write and speak English.
- You are able to pass vulnerable records check and drug/alcohol testing.
- You are reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and willingness to work a variety of shifts.
- This is a part-time, unionized position located in Duncan.
- There is a requirement to work on shifts that may vary from 5 to 10 hours, up to 40 hours per week.
- Various start/end times Sunday to Saturday.
