About the Role
As a Retail Security Officer with Securiguard, you'll be more than just a uniformed presence-you'll be a frontline ambassador of safety, customer service, and professionalism in the retail environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are approachable, dependable, and observant.
Retail Security Officers play a key role in creating a safe and welcoming shopping experience by focusing on visibility, proactive patrols, and customer support. Working closely with store management and Loss Prevention teams, you'll help prevent incidents before they occur and respond effectively when needed-all while representing both the client and Securiguard with integrity.

What You Would Do
- Maintain a professional, highly visible presence to deter theft and unwanted behavior.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, assisting with inquiries, and offering reassurance.
- Conduct proactive patrols of sales floors, entrances/exits, and other designated areas.
- Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies.
- Observe and report suspicious activity in collaboration with store management and Loss Prevention.
- Act as a liaison between security and store operations on customer or safety concerns.
- Complete clear, accurate, and timely incident reports and daily activity logs.
- Promote a positive and safe environment for all staff and customers.
Job Requirements
- Valid BC Security Worker License (BST) in good standing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first approach.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and approachable in all situations.
- Observant, proactive, and dependable in maintaining security standards.
- Minimum of 6 months of retail, customer service, or security experience an asset.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to stand and remain attentive during shifts of up to 8 hours.
