Job SummaryHydro International, part of CRH Infrastructure Products, is a leading global provider of advanced products, services and expertise in water management. The HGV Driver will work within the UK Wastewater Services (UKWWS) team supporting water utility companies working on sewage sites across the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities- Pending Monday to Friday away from home on sewage treatment sites.
- Lead all lifting operations and secure loads on the lorry and crane.
- Maintain the lorry and crane on a daily basis.
- Assist the mechanical/electrical engineering team with manual fitting work.
- Complete routine maintenance, clean and overnight stay in the cab of the lorry.
- Perform weekend maintenance as required.
- Current valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Ability to work some distance from base requiring overnight stays.
- Capacity to work outdoors on sites connected with wastewater (sewage).
- Can work at heights from scaffold platforms, ladders or mechanical equipment.
- Participate in confined space training and work as part of a team.
- Physical strength and stamina to stand, kneel, or crouch as required.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and serviceable vehicle.
- C+E/HGV 1 licence
- LOLER 1998 awareness
- Valid driver’s CPC and Digi card
- Crane Operators licence
- Confined spaces to City and Guilds desirable
- Slinger/crane supervisor licence desirable
- Mechanical Engineering background desirable
- At least 2 years’ Class 1 driving experience
- Qualified crane operator with experience
- Experience of BS 7121 safe use of cranes
- Experience loading flatbed wagons and securing loads
- Basic industrial mechanical fitting knowledge
- Basic health & safety knowledge for construction industry
- Prioritise workload and work systematically within time frames
