Senior Nurse - Care Home

Overview

As a Senior Nurse at a Barchester care home, you’ll lead and deliver high-quality care, supporting residents with mental and physical needs. You’ll be a hands-on clinical leader, ensure a safe environment, use professional judgment for clinical decisions, from assessing new residents to implementing safeguarding policies and administering medicines in line with NMC regulations. You’ll mentor your team to provide the highest standards of nursing, with autonomy to do things the right way.

To join us as a Senior Nurse, you’ll need to be a Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with a current NMC registration and a mentoring or supervision qualification. You should have experience producing care plans and detailed risk assessments, up-to-date knowledge of the most recent clinical practices, and an understanding of regulatory frameworks including DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines. You’ll be a natural leader and problem solver who has worked with older people and acted as a clinical mentor, including supporting newly qualified nurses through their preceptorship.
