Commander Strike Force Head of Safety and Environmental Protection

The successful candidate will be able to deliver within a fast‑paced ever‑changing environment; prioritising at short notice diverse and challenging requirements. They will be an essential part of the enabling team within CSF.

You will be highly motivated and confident, inquisitive and a critical thinker. You must be able to work under pressure both as part of a team and independently. You will require considerable diplomatic skills and be able to engage colleagues and external stakeholders in the discussion of new, unfamiliar or controversial concepts. You will be expected to apply sound judgement and strong leadership skills, and to be empathetic when dealing with potentially traumatised individuals.

Due to the nature of CSF work, you will be exposed to situations, information of a confidential and sensitive nature.

You will have experience of risk management, such as conducting, reviewing and completing risk assessments.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be capable of producing accurate and clear written reports to challenging deadlines and have good presentation skills. You must also be computer literate.

• Experience of building and maintaining effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Experience of dealing with complex health and safety challenges
• Experience of acting as an Auditor

• Hold a Full UK Driving Licence as travelling to remote sites is required.
• Hold a NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate or equivalent and be a certified member of IOSH qualifications.

• Experience of leading and delivering HSEP at unit or organisation level.
• Experience of HSEP in an operational environment.
• Hold a Diploma in Health and Safety; or Environmental Protection; or equivalent or a willingness to work towards this.
