Overview
Mylar Specialty Films (formerly Dupont Teijin Films) is a leading global producer of PET and PEN polyester films specialising in film products and related services for markets and industries including Battery Materials, Durable Cards, Electrical Insulation and Capacitors, Flexible Electronics, Healthcare, Imaging Media, Labels, Packaging, Photovoltaics and many more. Mylar Specialty Films is a 50/50 Joint Venture between Celanese Corporation and Teijin Limited.
The business has approximately 2000 employees worldwide with manufacturing sites in Asia Pacific, America and Europe. The UK production, Global Research & Development Operation is based in Dumfries, Scotland.
The Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor will lead a team required to maintain production equipment and maximise availability through a combination of reactive, proactive, preventative and predictive maintenance methods while working to the highest health & safety standards.
Responsibilities- Ensuring all statutory mechanical equipment inspections and improvement actions are completed to plan.
- Manage and develop mechanical maintenance resources and utilise maintenance planning systems (CMMS) to deliver safety and reliability targets and improvements.
This is a full‑time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Qualifications- Completed a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience carrying out a similar role in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Knowledge and experience of maintaining mechanical plant.
- Experience of safe systems of work and risk assessment.
- Knowledge of safety, health and the environment (SHE) policies, safe standards of work and statutory regulations.
- An understanding of maintenance processes and techniques.
- Ability to work and communicate with internal and external teams.
- Adaptable and flexible to support on site outside of normal working hours when required.
- Knowledge and experience of maintenance tasks, planning and coordination.
- The ability to organise and lead a team to implement maintenance tasks and support on site working outside of normal working hours when required.
- HNC in mechanical engineering desirable.
- Experience of a Computerised Maintenance Management System desirable.
- Willingness to develop.
Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and a valid work permit, if required.

This role comes with a competitive remuneration package from £48,000, depending on skills and experience, including optional company pension, health, dental and vision cover.
