Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is: 12.3 hour post, Monday to Thursday 17:30–20:00 and Friday 17:30–19:50.
This post is located at Dumbarton Health Centre.
Responsibilities- Provide an efficient, high quality domestic service to patients and staff, following a specific schedule of work relating to defined areas.
- Clean all areas of hospital clinical and non-clinical locations, including wet mopping, vacuuming, emptying bins, replenishing supplies, cleaning fixtures and furniture, and toilet/bathroom areas.
- Maintain a flexible approach to daily routine.
- Use cleaning agents economically and safely, following manufacturers instructions.
- May be required to use mechanical cleaning equipment.
- Wear protective clothing supplied by the Department and complete all daily/weekly sign-off sheets for areas of work.

As from 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHSGGC is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
