Job Description
This advert is to join West Dunbartonshire Council's teaching supply secondary list. The post is for various locations/schools throughout the West Dunbartonshire area and for teachers who are currently available to undertake supply work. West Dunbartonshire Council are a teacher booker Council. If you are a teacher committed to raising attainment and helping pupils realise their full potential, supply teaching opportunities are available throughout the area.
We look for individuals with GTCS registration and knowledge of current planning and assessment procedures and national/local curriculum priorities to join our pool of Supply Teachers. We recognise the importance of supply teachers in ensuring continuity of effective teaching and learning to our pupils. We are committed to supporting the professional development of supply teachers, and can arrange training and development opportunities to enable you to realise your full potential.
RC Approval is required if wishing to work in denominational schools.

RequirementsYou will find the Head Teachers report template attached to this advert, the relevant form (Teacher or Promoted Teacher) MUST be completed by your Head Teacher. Please upload your Head Teacher Report in the 'COVER LETTER' section of the application; you are not required to write a cover letter. Your application will not be considered without a Head Teacher Report; any application submitted without a Head Teacher Report will be automatically rejected.
ResponsibilitiesThis post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are therefore not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions that for other purposes are “spent” under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment, any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Education body and removal from the Register of the General Teaching Council.
