Seasonal Scale Operator

Overview

Seasonal Scale Operator position at Skyland Grain, LLC. This is a seasonal/temporary role.

• Operate the scale to weigh in-bound and out-bound trucks
• Complete all applicable paperwork accurately and timely
• Greet employees, members, and visitors in a courteous manner when they enter the office
• File, type, and perform other office support activities
• Answer the telephone in a professional manner and assist customers with sales, questions or complaints
• Keep the work area neat and clean
• Maintain clean facilities and comply with all state and federal regulations pertaining to a safe workplace and housekeeping
• Attend training and safety meetings
• Provide excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations; respond promptly to customer needs, resolve questions, complaints and concerns, and meet commitments
• Communicate effectively by verbal and written means with customers, employees and management
• Maintain and promote safety awareness; follow safety policies, procedures and reporting requirements
• Present a clean and professional appearance
• Perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic computer operation skills required
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for seasonal demands
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise and dust/fumes
