SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the charge nurse, provides direct patient care in the Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation department by assisting and/or providing for residents in the essential activities of daily living. Communicate with charge nurse(s), and other staff about residents’ condition including responding quickly and accurately to requests for assistance from residents and nurses. Must participate in quality teams as assigned and be knowledgeable in all resident care plans as well as the policies and procedures of the facility.
- Provide quality personal care to residents while maintaining resident rights
- Provide quality assistance with daily living activities including but not limited to showers, oral care, peri-care, nail care, feeding etc.
- Assist residents in maintaining their highest functioning level
- Report any condition changes of residents to nurses in a timely manner
- Complete daily duties as assigned in a timely manner and before leaving shift daily
- Remain knowledgeable of changes in regulations and resident conditions
- Complete ADL coding appropriately each day before leaving shift
- Maintain education requirements for regulations and certifications as well as ADL coding requirement changes
- Participate in quality improvement teams/projects

Successful completion of Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation program (NATCEP).
Licensure / Certification RequirementsCurrent Texas CNA certification and current CPR certification required. Must maintain current certifications at all times.
