Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next‑day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility are located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company‑wide and have expanded throughout the Midwest.

The Lead CDL Driver is responsible for leading a group of CDL Drivers in their day‑to‑day duties.

• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – completion of route
• 5–15 hours of overtime may be required each week
• Required to cover variable shifts (days/nights/weekends) based on business needs
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• Starting wage: $26.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience

• Complete routes for employees who are absent
• Assist drivers with daily morning duties such as sorting freight and loading trucks
• Assist with the initial training period of new drivers
• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
• Collect payments as needed
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
• Maintain professional personal appearance and cleanliness of vehicle
• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments
• Travel may be required
• Perform other required duties as assigned

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
• Must have leadership skills and the ability to make quick decisions

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver’s license OR successfully complete Company paid CDL training program

• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
• Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs while moving freight on and off company vehicle
• Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
• Ability to work with all types of freight, including hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
