Job Responsibilities- Installs, maintains, and repairs all electrical systems so District buildings and facilities are functional, safe, meet codes, and allow maximum utilization by employees and other users.
- Performs or assists in all other building trades and non‑trades functions related to building construction, remodeling and maintenance ensuring the integrity of all building structures, building systems and facility sites in the District.
- Maintains and repairs all facilities and equipment in the District so they can be utilized with maximum efficiency.
- Ensures appropriate procedures, permits, and inspection documentation meet compliance required by the State Board of Electricity.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Possession of a current Minnesota Class A Master Electrician's license.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Experience with construction plans, blueprints and electrical specifications sufficient to interpret, modify and follow them to complete electrical projects.
- Experience with Windows-based operating systems, spreadsheet applications and word processing applications.
- Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak and understand oral and written information; communicate with employees and the general public in-person or via two‑way radio and other electronic devices; and to maintain routine written logs and simple records.
- Experience with commercial/industrial wiring and related voltage.
- Experience with building construction, remodeling or other building trades.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work in a variety of areas throughout the complex, and in some cases with a large variety of tools (both power and hand). The employee frequently uses gross and fine dexterity in a variety of positions including reaching outward and overhead, bending, working with outstretched arms and/or while lying on the back, working from heights and bending over.
The employee works with power tools, machinery/instruments and equipment, and hand tools requiring the frequent lifting and/or carrying/holding of supplies and parts up to 50 pounds and rarely up to 100 pounds. Loads over 100 pounds are lifted occasionally, but with the aid of lifting devices and fellow workers. Fine dexterity and eye coordination of the wrists, hands and fingers to handle, feel, scrape, pound or use force is constant up to 25 pounds.
Working conditions include vision, noise, vibration, respiratory and chemical hazards.
