Overview
The Coordinator Cardiovascular Services is accountable to the Director of Nursing for the planning, coordination and evaluation of services and system elements for the Cardiovascular Services e's Hospital and Regional Cardiovascular Center. Functions as the STEMI Program Coordinator and provides oversight and coordination of all elements of the Chest Pain / STEMI Programs in collaboration with the Medical Director. The Cardiovascular Coordinator also functions as the STEMI/NSTEMI Coordinator.
Responsibilities include the planning, organizing, and evaluation of patient care within the program as well as compliance with regulatory bodies and national guidelines for stroke management. This position helps to develop and maintain high quality, evidence-based care through education and training.

Experience: Three (3) years experience in the care of cardiovascular patients:
Emergency/Cardiovascular Care or ICU Cardiovascular Care. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in computer applications. Experience in educational staff development, public speaking or teaching.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license in Minnesota to practice as a Registered Nurse. BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network. Completion of ACLS and TNCC within one (1) year of hire. ACLS needs to be continuously maintained. TNCC need not be maintained.
Preferred QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
Experience: EMT, Paramedic, or Flight Nursing experience

Knowledge of current practice in Emergency and ICU Nursing. Knowledge of and proficiency in using personal computer technology, Microsoft Office. Ability to project and articulate well; to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff; to listen and receive information and suggestions from others; to exercise good judgment and accept personal responsibility; to establish priorities, and to maintain confidentiality.
READING - Advanced:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
WRITING - Advanced:
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
SPEAKING - Advanced:
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, top management, public groups, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Advanced:
Ability to comprehend and apply advanced mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
